The holograms sold at ArcadiaID are made for the standard CR-80 (2.125" x 3.375") ID card. The full spectrum hologram image can only be seen at certain viewing angles, which allows visibility of the underlying ID card information. Each overlay is constructed in two layers. The first layer is a base polyester film which is 2 mils thick. After the transparent holographic foil imprint is applied and then laminated with an additional layer of 2 mil thick polyester film for increased durability. The total thickness of each overlay is 5 mil.
Each hologram is peel and stick format and are manually applied by hand. A hologram can either be applied under the butterfly pouch before lamination, or over the top of the pouch. However, applying the hologram after lamination on the surface of the ID card is recommended as the butterfly pouches will adhere to the Artisyn more strongly than the hologram upon the application of heat. When applying the hologram after lamination, it is important to make sure that the surface of the card is clean before applying the hologram, or air bubbles will form around dust particles.
